Diary dates for term 4

This term we continue with our study around the sun and the moon and their effects on our planet.
We are learning to write an explanation a bout a how we know It is night or day and what happened at different times through 24 hours.
In Maths we are learning to tell the time and how to use money. We continue to learn about number and number bonds, adding, subtracting, equal sharing, adding on in groups of 2,5,10.
In writing please make sure your child is forming all their letters correctly so they are free to write without worrying about how to form letters.
In health we are learning how to keep our teeth healthy so they will last for all our life!
In PE we will be learning how to run races and stay in our lanes while we run fast.

4 November Sausage Sizzle Mufti Day
26 November Year 1 Athletics Day 9.15 start on the field

9 December PTA bake sale
16 December Prize Giving at the Cathedral please bring a picnic lunch to school to share with your child if you wish.

Diary dates for year 1 syndicate in term 3
Tuesday 18 August
Book week is during week 8 7th September to 11th September
Monday 7th September is a Book parade first thing in the morning and we encourage children to come dressed as their favourite mythical character.
Week 9 17th September is our Trip to Stardome Observatory.

Inquiry focus is Challenge and we are looking at Science this term. We are going to investigate the importance of the sun and the moon and the effects of them on our world.

The value we are investigating this term is CURIOSITY. The importance being a curious learner to find answers to things that peak our curiosity.
