Hello from room. 6
We have been talking about our topic "Landforms" today. We put our white thinking hat on to talk about all the facts we know about Volcanoes. We have drawn a picture of what we know in class. This weekend could you all become researchers and find out some facts about volcanoes. We also want to know which volcano is closest to Parnell District School.

A big thank you to the home support in reading and alphabet learning. Room 6 students are making super progress towards knowing all the alphabet letter names and sounds by the end of term one.

For the students who have mastered the alphabet, it would be very helpful if their next goal is to learn how to form all letters correctly. This will help at writing time. We are sending home a letter formation sheet to help with practise.
Thanks everyone, have a happy weekend and enjoy the sun.

We are planning our Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) visit to Tiri Tiri Matangi Island on Wednesday 28 March. We will leave school at 8.15am and return at 5.15pm. Please remember to return permission slips to Mrs Browne ASAP. We have filled our parent positions  ... thank you to our first six parents in this morning. Our learning focus is the landmarks around us, how they have been formed, recognising the unique aspects of them (i.e. how do we recognise them) and the conservation aspects of preserving our native flora and fauna on Tiri; why is it important.

We are making a big push on learning all our letter names and sounds this term. We have a class goal of everyone knowing over half the alphabet names and sounds by the end of this term ... April, Thursday 5th.

In Maths our class goal is to learn to recognise all numerals to 20 and everyone be able to count back from 10 by the end of term.
Thanks everyone.
